Exploring the legality of child marriage in Europe: What you need to know

Hey everyone, have you ever wondered whether child marriage is legal in Europe? Well, let’s delve into this important topic. In Europe, the legal age for marriage varies from country to country. In most European countries, the minimum age for marriage is 18 years old. However, there are some countries where exceptions are made for younger individuals to marry with parental consent. This brings up the issue of child marriage, which is a practice that is still present in some parts of Europe.

Child marriage is a harmful practice that can have serious consequences for the young individuals involved. It can lead to a lack of education, limited opportunities, and health risks. In Europe, efforts have been made to combat child marriage through legal frameworks and awareness campaigns. Despite these efforts, child marriage still occurs in some communities.

Countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovakia have higher rates of child marriage compared to other European countries. This is often due to cultural norms and traditions that prioritize early marriage. It is important for governments and organizations to continue working towards eradicating child marriage and protecting the rights of young individuals.

In conclusion, while child marriage is not legal in most European countries, it is still a reality for some communities. It is crucial for us to raise awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage and work towards creating a world where every young individual has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Let’s continue to advocate for the rights of children and ensure that child marriage becomes a thing of the past.

She managed to influence the comprehensive national dialogue conference in Yemen to pass and apply a law of criminalizing the marriage of minors under the age of 18 , and that is after launching her first video to rally the international media to denounce the marriage of minors. Below are highlights of her main not limited to her achievement during the awareness campaign she held throughout herlife:
